Books-A-Million, Inc. is a leading book retailer headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with over 260 stores across 32 states and the District of Columbia. It started as a small newsstand in Florence, Alabama, in 1917 and has grown to become the second-largest bookseller in the country. It also operates a book wholesale and distribution subsidiary called American Wholesale Book Company and a few other ventures.
